Sargadelos

White and blue to recover our roots

Eduardo Leal Uguina

Sargadelos pottery is surely one of the most famous artistic pieces in all Galicia. Created in 1806 and after a long closure in 1875, it’s been characterized by the use of blues and golden brown together with the powerful white of its ceramics.
The series I wanted to illustrate has been one of the most widely accepted: amulets, inspired by the stories of meigas and their spells.
Conservation of art as a form of cultural transmission seems to me essential for evolution as a society: never lose your roots.
